Day 545 - Swimming lessons

ISO 3200, 70mm, f/4.0, 1/200 sec

Roxy will be 15 in September is starting to show some weakness in her hind end.

This is Laurie, her hydrotherapy coach. Roxy loved the water, she's sleeping soundly now, but she really seemed to enjoy herself.

Day 530 - Watchin' Joey blossom

ISO 100, 85mm, f/4.0, 1/500 sec

When we adopted Joey seven years ago, he was afraid of his own shadow. Humans were even worse. It took him four years to work up the courage to allow us to scratch his ears.

Now, he noses right in and pushes other dogs out of the way just to get his ears scratched. To say the least, his progress has been amazing to watch over the years.

Day 525 - My best side

ISO 250, 55mm, f/4.0, 1/125 sec

Clearly Clancy feels this is the best side 'cause there was no way he was going to look the other direction. He was hunka, hunka hound dog.

Day 523 - On a mission

ISO 200, 92mm, f/4.0, 1/1250 sec

And I'm pretty sure there is a light at end of the tunnel, finally.

I don't think I have ever let three days go by without taking the time for a least one photo.

Day 469 - Rain dog

ISO 160, 280mm, f/4.0, 1/250 sec

Today was a work at home day, my favorite kind... and oh how the doggies love it too.

I could work at home forever and never get distracted, that is until it is time for the noon time run. I have a few vocal dogs that know how to tell time.

It was raining by the time they finally got me away from the computer, but I followed them out the door anyway. We have a new squirrel in the trees that is living life a little dangerously and I was hoping to snag a photo of him.

Barney was looking so beautiful however, that by the time I got done watching him, the squirrel had left the tree.

Day 429 - Welcome back Barney

ISO 400, 58mm, f/4.0, 1/50 sec

This is Barney. We fostered him six years ago and he is a wonderful greyhound. About a month ago, we got an e-mail from his family saying they were moving out of state and wouldn't be able to take him with them.

We welcomed him back with open paws. He just turned 12 in December. He doesn't act a day older that the last time he was here.

What a hound dog.

Day 402 - Portrait of a skinny dog

Yup, this is just my hunka, hunka hound dog, Flocko. My bedmate, my cover thief, my friend.

Day 381

ISO 400, 105mm, f/5.0, 1/400 sec

Day 381 - Splash

We are experiencing what is fondly referred to as a pineapple express. Better known as a whole lot rain at balmy temperatures. In our case, about 50°.

Since the backyard backs up to a wetlands, we are currently running the dogs in a swamp.

Not that they mind.

Day 362

ISO 800, 50mm, f/1.8, 1/320 sec.

Day 362 - Rainhound

Last night it rained sideways, today it just rained and rained and rained. Flocko had to play ball.

I thought I might as well give you a sample of both. Greyhounds and raindrops.

ISO 800, 50mm, f/1.8, 1/320 sec.

I call this "dogdrop"

Day 343

ISO 100, 47mm, f/7.1, 1/60 sec.

Day 343 - Woo hoo! It's portrait season

Every year I do a small run of greyhound calenders. Every year, I start thinking about a theme on January 1. Sometimes I actually come up with some pretty cool ideas, like this year.

Of course, if I started to execute those cool ideas right away, I might actually pull it off.

Once again, I have thought way too long and am executing at the eleventh hour.

Tonight marks three down, nine to go, plus the cover. How many days until Christmas?

Day 333

ISO 160, 58mm, f/7.1, 1/60 sec.

Day 333 - Just a portrait

I thought I was too lazy to go out in the rain tonight, fiddle with the tripod, yada, yada, yada.

Good grief, trying to capture a portrait of one of the greyhounds was torture. I guess cooperation was not on their to do list today.

Day 248 - It's a bird, it's a plane

Actually, I have no idea what is entertaining her.

With the exception of a quick trip to the store and a hair cut, I played with the doggies all day.

Day 247 - Leaving Las Vegas

ISO 1250, 24mm, f/4.0, 1/40 sec.

Day 247 - Leaving Las Vegas

Or, there is no place like home. I'll never deny that I had a fabulous time at Photoshop World, but it sure felt good to leave the twinkly lights behind.

ISO 500, 105mm, f/4.0, 1/6 sec.

and be on my way home.

ISO 100, 200mm, f/2.8, 1/250 sec.

My homecoming was a huge love fest of wagging tails, cold noses and wet sloppy kisses.

Day 241 - I'll miss you too

ISO 100, 155mm, f/2.8, 1/200 sec.

Day 241 - I'll Miss You Too

Tomorrow I leave for Las Vegas and Photoshop World.

Our Internet has been on and off all day, it is driving me nuts.

I will really miss my family, but I'm looking forward to all that PSW offers.

I'll do my best to get the daily posted. I suspect there will be lots of lights coming your direction.

Day 234 - Sour apples

ISO200, 130mm, f/2.8, 1/640 sec.

Day 234 - Sour Apples

Pucker up Danny Bleu, that must be one sour apple.

We have several apple trees on the property that went bonkers this year. The greyhounds love the apples and we pick them fresh right off of the tree much to their delight.

Judging by the look on Danny's face, I'm guessing the apples aren't quite ready.
