Day 420 - Heritage

ISO 3200, 125mm, f/2.8, 1/125 sec

During last weeks portrait class, we had a guest from the Lakota Sioux tribe. I wish I could remember his name, but his a grandson of Chief Red Cloud. He is wearing a replica of a garment that Chief Red Cloud wore.

Although he was very serious about his heritage, including a smudging before the portrait shoot, clearly he had a playful side.

  2. Hi Y'all,

Fantastic photos. I like the "playful side". It has a more human, real person feel than the formal top portrait.

I agree, the lighting is very dramatic in the top photo.

  3. Fantastic lighting.
The first one is definately more formal, it shows dignity and pride. The second one is fun and personal. They are both equally fantastic but my fav is definately the first one.
