Day 255

Day 255 - Reflecting on Fall

It was one of those incredibly beautiful fall mornings. With coffee in hand, we decided to hang out at the local duck pond, Craggett Creek Wetlands.

I don't think I have ever seen so the water so still, it reflected back at the ducks almost as if it were a mirror.

The nutria were out in full force. Often perceived as the "weed" of rodents, these guys spent their morning swimming, playing, eating and bathing.

I apparently didn't pose too much of a threat because this guy got up close and personal to check me out.

He sniffed, I snapped and then he wandered back into the pond.

  1. They look like beavers. Always thought that nutria sounds like a brand name of some diet product

  2. Wow! Beautiful. That water does look like a mirror and that nutria coming right up to you? Pretty cool! Great images.

  3. Terrific photographs! The ducks in our local park pond will not let people get within about 50 yards of them. The close-up photo of the Nutria is super. He reminds me of the gopher on Caddy Shack. :-)

  4. Nice shots.

I like the reflection, and motion feel on the first shot. On the second, love those concentric circles (swirl motion).

Ditto on Leslie's comment on the 3rd shot.
