Day 311

Day 311 - The marina and moi

We had to run up to a Costco in Portland today and took a back road along the Willamette River.

When we moved to Oregon some 20 years ago, this marina was in full swing, lowering the boats down about 20 ft. to the river. Have no idea when it closed.

ISO 100, 105mm, f/7.1, 1/50 sec.

The me part. Ugh. I'm getting gutsier and a self-portrait was on the bucket list for 2010. I have been putting this off since the beginning of time. I much prefer being on the other side of the lens, but Karen is heading back to Boston and wanted to take a picture of me with her.

And so, with a half-century under my belt and two daughters that ruined my figure for life, here I am.

  1. Lovely to see your face! Great portrait, and the Marina is not bad either.

I still won't post anything of me, unless there is something covering my face.

  2. Great shot of the marina, looks like it's been closed for awhile.

Nice self-portrait, nice to see you. I'm not brave enough to post one!!!

  3. Great capture of the marina and yourself. I told myself that I would take a self-portrait every 30 days, but I haven't honored that statement.

  4. Aw, non-sense, you look great! What an awesome self portrait. I just read somewhere that photographers should have their pictures taken often so we don't forget the "awkwardness" of being on the other side of the camera.

That marina would make a great location for a shoot - and those clouds cooperated with you nicely.

  5. Self portrait is really great! Was thinking of a self portrait a day or maybe a week for the next project but pretty sure I'd wimp out on that.

  6. Finally we get to see the face behind the camera ;)
    Nice self-portrait indeed!
